Delivery lead wants one total for work spread across projects

When

The epics sit in one project, their stories and sub-tasks in two others, and the review asks how many points the whole thing holds.

Set up

  1. Add the Hierarchy Totals gadget to a dashboard.
  2. In its settings, tick the projects, pick Story point estimate, keep sum.
  3. Save.

You get

The gadget with three project rows — PLAT, MOBL and DES — each with its total, DONE share and unestimated badge, and a footer naming when the numbers were taken.

One bold row per project with its total and DONE share. A story whose epic is in another selected project is counted under that epic. The footer says when the numbers were taken.

Why it pays

Nobody exports three filters to a spreadsheet before the review. The gadget reads a stored copy, so a 31,000-issue portfolio renders in about 1.5 s.

Limits

Jira’s parent field only — issue links are not followed. Up to 50 projects per gadget. After saving, the tile shows a live preview and replaces it with the complete numbers on its own when the first background pass ends: minutes on a small site, an hour or more on a large one. The complete numbers may be higher or lower than the preview.
